Process of Preparing Kuti Pisi Jaivik Haldi
At Shree Devgiri, we follow the age-old Kuti Pisi (stone-ground) method to prepare our Jaivik (organic) Haldi, ensuring every pinch carries nature’s true aroma, flavor, and health benefits.
1. Selecting the Finest Organic Turmeric Rhizomes
We start by carefully handpicking healthy, disease-free turmeric rhizomes grown organically, free from chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Only the best golden roots make it to the next stage.
2. Traditional Cleaning & Boiling (Curing)
Freshly harvested rhizomes are cleaned to remove all soil and impurities. We then boil them in traditional vessels for 45–60 minutes until soft — a step that enhances color, aroma, and nutrition while removing the raw odor.
3. Sun-Drying for Natural Preservation
The boiled rhizomes are sun-dried for 3–5 days under controlled conditions, avoiding harsh direct sunlight to maintain their rich golden color and natural oils.
4. Kuti Pisi (Stone Grinding) Method
Once completely dry, the turmeric is broken into small pieces and slowly ground using traditional stone grinders. This slow, low-heat process preserves the essential oils, medicinal properties, and deep aroma.
5. Sieving & Packing with Care
The fine turmeric powder is sieved for a smooth texture and packed immediately in airtight, food-grade containers to lock in freshness.
